Warm Chestnog

What You'll Need

2 cups whole milk or your favorite alt milk substitute
1/4 cup Spiced Chestnut Crème
Whipped cream (optional)
Ground cinnamon (optional)
Cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1) In a small saucepan, heat milk on medium heat until simmering. There should be small bubbles appearing near the sides of the pan. Do not let milk scald.

2) Add 1/4 cup of Spiced Chestnut Crème to the hot milk. Using a whisk, stir vigorously until crème is fully incorporated. Divide Chestnog into two mugs.

3) Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, and a cinnamon stick, if desired, and enjoy!

Scale it up (or down)

Chestnog can be scaled up to 2+ servings or down to a single serving with the ratio of 2 tablespoons of crème to 1 cup of milk. One jar of our Spiced Chestnut Crème makes 8 servings of chestnog. When scaling up, it's helpful to use an immersion blender in step 2 to incorporate the crème more efficiently.

During parties, Chestnog can simmer on the stove so guests can serve themselves. Note that with certain alt milks, a skin may form when left on the stove — simply skim the top and discard.
