What You'll Need
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
- Spread a thin layer (about 1/2 tablespoon) of Spiced Chestnut Crème onto each slice of bread, all the way to the edges. Set aside.
- Mix milk, heavy cream, and eggs in a baking dish or another dish wide enough to accommodate the width of your bread slices.
- Dip each slice in milk mixture for 3-5 seconds, turning to cover both sides. Do not let the bread soak. Set aside dipped slices on a platter.
- In a large cast-iron, nonstick, or stainless steel saucepan or griddle, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
- When butter is bubbling and sizzling, place two slices of bread in pan. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until golden brown, then flip to the other side. Baste with more butter as needed to prevent sticking. Cook for 2 more minutes.
- Transfer to a baking sheet in your preheated oven while cooking remaining slices, or serve immediately. When serving, top with more butter, maple syrup, a scoop of plain greek yogurt, and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
